Brand New Day

Brand New Day started as a concept clothing line that I developed for my senior BFA show. The purpose behind this was to showcase a wide variety of artistic design skills used for developing a strong brand identity. The idea began in the fall of 2019 and the end goal was to hold a “Pop Up Shop” vibe in the gallery space of the University of Miami’s Rainbow Gallery. However by May 2020, due to Covid-19 that was put on hold until December 2020. Eventually, as the year progressed I was unable to show my work on campus. With that being said, even though this was not a part of my graduation celebration, I could not have done it without the support, guidance, and wisdom of my amazing professors throughout my time pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at UMGo ‘Canes!

I developed the brand name to provide a message for consumers but it holds a special place in my own story. All the closest people in my life, that have given me love and support to pursue my creative path, call me “Day” and so I wanted to capture that warm feeling in my own brand. By adding this personal element to the name, it serves as a “thank you” to everyone that has been by side through this process. All of the t-shirts were hand screen printed by myself in the studio. Each hat is freehand embroidered, and the jackets are all hand-painted/ some embroidered as well. This endeavor gave me an opportunity to incorporate my passion for graphic design and fine art into one place, as well as experiment with new textures and techniques.
